Medium: Glass
At first, a group of blown glass vessels appear to be a still life. Upon closer inspection, in fact, one sees that inside that is the dynamic and ever-changing environment of a live fermentation process.
In the process of transformation over time, honey and water become mead. By amplifying the sound of the fermenting liquids, through the bell-like ringing of glass, one can hear the sound markers in distinct intervals that indicate what stage of transformation the mead is in.
I seek to connect activities of vessel production with those of food and beverage production, both of which can be achieved on a small scale and at a personal level. Thus, craft rejoins our daily life and the vessel's existence is validated through our personal use of it.
